One table, eight platforms, seven things you can actually measure. Every figure comes from our own test accounts and from the regulators' public registers — not from operator adverts on your timeline.

A review tells you what one platform feels like. A comparison tells you which one to open an account with. This hub puts every platform CasinoTrust has scored into a single table, then breaks the comparison down by vertical — sports betting, poker, online casino, crypto casino and prediction markets — because what matters to a punter following the NPFL and the Premier League is not what matters to a cash-game grinder or a USDT player.

The score is our overall editorial rating out of 10, worked out with the fixed weights published in the Ranking Protocol. Payout speed is the median time from withdrawal request to money actually landing in our testers' wallets or bank accounts. 'KYC' shows whether a platform let us withdraw without identity documents: no means full verification before the first withdrawal, partial means documents are requested above a threshold or on risk triggers, yes means we cashed out without sending anything in.

How to compare betting sites properly from Nigeria

Most comparison pages in this market sort by the size of the welcome offer. That is the wrong first filter, because a bonus you cannot withdraw is worth exactly ₦0. We compare in the order that protects your money: first whether you will be paid at all, then how fast the money reaches your bank or wallet, then what the product costs you, and only after that what extras are thrown in.

  1. Start with the licence — and know which one covers you

A UK Gambling Commission or Malta Gaming Authority licence gives you a regulator that answers complaints and an alternative dispute-resolution body. A Curaçao licence gives you far less recourse — acceptable for a crypto casino you fund in small amounts, risky for a bankroll running into millions of Naira. Note that none of these regulators covers a Nigerian resident the way the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) or a state board like the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority covers a locally licensed operator. Check the regulator's public register, never the logo in the footer.

  2. Check the payout route, not the promise

Every operator claims fast withdrawals. Look at the slowest method you would realistically use — a local bank transfer, a card, a crypto wallet — plus the daily and monthly withdrawal caps, and whether the terms let the operator pay a big win in instalments. If cash-outs only run through a rail you cannot reach from Nigeria, the advertised speed means nothing to you.

  3. Read the KYC policy before you fund the account

Verification is not optional on licensed sites; the question is when it happens. Platforms that verify at sign-up are annoying but predictable. Platforms that verify at first withdrawal can freeze a balance for weeks if your documents do not match your deposit method — a common trap when you deposit through a Paystack- or Flutterwave-powered channel in one name and try to cash out to an account in another. Keep your NIN slip, a utility bill and a clear ID photo ready before you deposit.

  4. Price the product

For casino games that means RTP and table limits; for sportsbooks, the overround on the markets you actually bet — Premier League and NPFL match odds, not obscure specials; for poker, the rake and the rake cap; for prediction markets, the spread and the trading fee. Our academy shows you how to calculate each one.

  5. Only then weigh the bonus

Divide the bonus by the wagering requirement and multiply by the house edge of the games that count. A 100% bonus with 40x wagering on slots at 96% RTP costs roughly 1.6x the bonus amount in expected losses to clear. That is not free money; it is a loan at negative interest.

The seven criteria in the table, explained

What each column measures and why it matters to a Nigerian player
ColumnWhat we measureWhy it matters
ScoreWeighted 0–10 rating across trust, games, payments, bonuses, support and mobileThe single number if you only have time for one — but read the sub-scores on the brand page
LicencePrimary regulator(s) verified on the public registerDecides what recourse you have if a withdrawal is refused — and offshore licences give a Nigerian player very little
CryptoWhether BTC, ETH, USDT or other coins are accepted for deposits and withdrawalsCrypto withdrawals settle in minutes and dodge card blocks, which is why P2P USDT is popular here; volatility and network fees are the trade-off
Min depositLowest deposit that unlocks real play (method dependent)Matters when you want to test a site with small money before trusting it with your salary
Payout speedMedian measured time from request to receipt in our testsThe clearest proxy for how an operator treats winners
KYCWhether documents were required before our first withdrawalPredicts whether your first cash-out moves smoothly or sits pending for weeks
Live chatHuman chat reachable without an account tier or ticketEmail-only support goes hand in hand with slow dispute handling — and long waits burn data as well as patience

What the table cannot show you

Three things decide real outcomes more than any column above. Access from Nigeria: a platform that is excellent elsewhere may block or partially restrict Nigerian accounts, so check availability from Nigeria on the brand page first — and note that using a VPN to get in usually voids your right to be paid. Limits: a sportsbook that trims winning accounts down to token stakes is useless to a sharp bettor whatever its score. Terms drift: bonus rules and withdrawal caps change without notice, which is why each brand page carries a last-tested date and our blacklist names operators that changed terms retroactively.

Frequently asked questions

Which betting site is the safest overall for a Nigerian player?

On our current scores, bet365 ranks highest for trust because it holds UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority licences plus national licences in several other markets — check availability from Nigeria before you plan around it. Betsson is close behind as a publicly listed MGA operator. Curaçao-licensed crypto casinos score well on payments but lower on trust, because dispute resolution is weaker and you have no local regulator to escalate to.

How do I compare payout speeds fairly when I cash out in Naira?

Compare the same method across sites and look at the median, not the advertised minimum. Crypto withdrawals from Stake, BC.Game and BitStarz arrived within minutes in our tests; bank transfers from UKGC operators took one to five business days, which is normal and partly outside the operator's control. Add your own last mile: money moving into a Nigerian bank account can still sit overnight, and weekends and public holidays stretch it further.

Is a bigger welcome bonus better?

Rarely, and the ₦ figures shouted in adverts are the least useful part. Divide the bonus by its wagering requirement and apply the house edge of the eligible games. A smaller bonus with 20x wagering is usually worth more than a large one with 50x. Our poker, casino and sports comparisons show the bonus terms next to the headline number.

What does 'no KYC' really mean on a crypto casino?

It means the platform did not ask for identity documents before our first withdrawal. It does not mean it never will: every licensed operator keeps the right to verify on risk triggers, large withdrawals or regulatory requests. Read 'no KYC' as 'KYC deferred', and have your NIN slip and ID scan ready so a sudden request does not strand your balance.

Can I use all of these platforms from Nigeria?

No. Each operator publishes a list of restricted territories in its terms, availability from Nigeria varies from brand to brand, and using a VPN to get around a block typically voids winnings. Check the restricted-country list on the brand page and the operator's own terms before you deposit a single Naira.

How often is this comparison updated?

Brand facts are re-verified on a rolling schedule and after any material event — a licence change, a payout backlog, a new KYC policy or a change in access from Nigeria. Each brand page shows its last-tested date, and the table on this page reads from the same data, so it is never older than the newest brand update.
