CasinoTrust reviews and ranks gambling platforms and teaches the maths behind the games they run, and this edition is written for players in Nigeria. Every score on the site comes from applying one published formula — the Ranking Protocol — to evidence gathered by testers who funded accounts with their own money, played, and timed the withdrawal back to a real bank account. Nothing here is ranked by how much it pays us, and the rule that makes that true is written down in our editorial policy instead of merely implied.

Ranking positions for sale — ever

Why we built this

Most gambling 'top 10' lists a Nigerian player runs into are advertising dressed up with numbers. The order is decided by commission rates, the scores are decoration, and the terms that determine whether your winnings ever reach your account are never mentioned at all. That problem has an obvious fix: publish the formula, publish the evidence, and let readers check the work themselves.

So CasinoTrust runs on three commitments. The method is public and anyone can reproduce it. The testing happens with real money on ordinary accounts, never press accounts. And the parts of a platform that decide whether a player gets treated fairly — licensing, terms, payout behaviour and dispute routes — carry more weight than the parts that are easy to advertise.

What we actually do

• Score platforms against six weighted dimensions and publish the score together with its last-tested date.
• Verify every licence on the regulator's own public register before a platform is eligible to be listed at all — and note whether an operator also holds a National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) or state lotteries board permit here.
• Read the full terms and conditions clause by clause, and flag every one that lets an operator hold on to your money.
• Run a free academy, calculators and a gambling wiki, so the maths is available without an account or an e-mail address.
• Maintain a blacklist of operators we hold evidence against, and a dispute resolution centre for players who cannot get paid.
• Publish a responsible gambling hub carrying limits, self-exclusion routes and helplines, on every language edition of the site.

What we stay out of

• We do not give gambling advice, tips or predictions, and we sell no systems. Nothing beats a negative expectation, whatever anyone charges for it.
• We do not run gambling, hold player funds or process a single bet. We are a publisher, not an operator.
• We do not act as a regulator. We cannot fine an operator, suspend a licence or force a payment — we can mediate, escalate and publish.
• We do not review platforms whose licence we cannot find on a public register. An unverifiable operator gets no score at all, rather than a low one.
• We do not publish payout claims we have not measured ourselves, or that we cannot trace to a document we are willing to show you.

The scoring, in brief

Six dimensions, fixed weights, and one licence gate that has to be passed before any of them apply. The full sub-criteria, the licence tiers and a worked example are set out in the Ranking Protocol.

Trust carries the heaviest weight because everything else rests on it. Bonuses carry the lightest, for the reasons laid out on our bonuses page: once the terms are applied, most welcome offers are worth a fraction of the number on the banner.

How the testing is done

   Open an ordinary player account

   Testers register from a consumer connection in a market the platform accepts, using their own identity. We do not announce our tests and we never accept press or VIP accounts.

   Fund it with real money

   At least two fiat methods — bank transfer, USSD, or a card processed through Paystack or Flutterwave where the operator supports it — and, where offered, two crypto networks, at amounts a recreational player would actually use rather than token sums that stay under verification thresholds.

   Play right across the product

   Slots, live dealer, sportsbook markets or poker tables as relevant, on desktop and on a phone, for long enough to trigger reality checks and to test deposit and loss limits.

   Put a clock on every withdrawal

   At least three withdrawals per method, requested at different times of day and week. The clock runs from request to funds landing, verification delays included — not from whatever processing window the operator advertises.

   Ask support questions we already know the answers to

   At least six tickets across different hours, overnight included, asking questions whose correct answers we already know from the terms.

   Verify, cross-check, then publish

   Licence register lookup, company records and a full read of the terms. A second editor re-scores from the same evidence before anything goes live, and the score publishes with its test date attached.

Where our money comes from

CasinoTrust is funded by affiliate commissions and, in clearly labelled slots, by advertising. When you open an account through a link on this site, the platform may pay us a commission. That is what keeps the academy, the calculators and the dispute service free to every reader. We would rather tell you that plainly than pretend to be a charity.

The obvious risk is that money buys placement. Three structural rules stop it. Rankings are produced by applying the published protocol to test evidence. The editors who score platforms are not told which platforms pay commission or at what rate. And commercial staff cannot request, review or veto a score, a ranking position or a blacklist entry. Platforms that pay us are ranked below platforms that do not whenever the evidence says so, and that has to be visible on the site for the claim to be worth anything.

Keeping editorial and commercial apart

Five specialist desks write everything here — casino and slots, poker, sports betting and prediction markets, crypto and payments, and compliance and responsible gambling. Each desk's remit is set out on the authors page. Information travels from editorial to commercial in one direction only: editorial says what has gone live, and nothing comes back the other way. Advertising slots carry an advertising label. Affiliate links are disclosed. Corrections are made in place with a note attached, never quietly.

Twelve editions, one method

The site publishes in twelve language editions, including English (with this dedicated Nigerian edition), Portuguese, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, French, Spanish and Arabic. Every edition uses the same scores, the same protocol and the same blacklist. Editions render local currencies, payment rails and regulators correctly, but they never soften a verdict to suit a market — a platform that scores 6.2 in English scores 6.2 in every language, this one included.

Lines we will not cross

• Sell a ranking position, a score, or a place on a 'top' list. There is no price, and no package that quietly includes one.
• Publish a payout figure, a speed claim or a bonus amount we have not verified. Where a number would have to be invented, we describe the mechanism instead and leave the number out.
• Take a fee to remove a blacklist entry or to soften a review. Blacklist entries come off when the evidence changes, and that evidence is published.
• Let a commercial partner see a review before publication. Operators get exactly the access anyone else gets: the published page and the corrections route.
• Target under-18s, or present gambling as a way to earn. Gambling is 18+ (higher in some jurisdictions), every game carries a house edge, and no page on this site will tell you otherwise.
• Hide who we are. The desks, the method and the funding model are all on the site, in public.

How you can hold us to it

A claim of independence is only worth the mechanism standing behind it, and three are open to you. First, the protocol can be reproduced: the sub-criteria describe what to measure and how to turn a measurement into a score, so you can re-run any test yourself and tell us if your numbers differ from ours. Second, the corrections route in our editorial policy commits us to acknowledge a complaint within two working days and to fix verified errors in place. Third, if you believe a review has been influenced by commercial interest, put that to the compliance desk and we will publish the outcome.
