CasinoTrust reviews and ranks gambling platforms, and teaches the maths behind the games they run. Every score on the site comes from applying one published formula — the Ranking Protocol — to evidence collected by testers who deposited their own money, played, and timed the withdrawal. Nothing on this site is ranked by how much it pays us, and the rule that makes that true is written down in our editorial policy rather than implied.

Why this site exists

Most gambling 'top 10' lists are advertising with a numbered layout. The order is set by commission rates, the scores are decorative, and the terms that decide whether you actually get paid are never mentioned. That is a solvable problem: publish the formula, publish the evidence, and let readers check the work.

So CasinoTrust starts from three commitments. The method is public and reproducible. The testing is done with real money on ordinary accounts, not press accounts. And the parts of a platform that decide whether a player is treated fairly — licensing, terms, payout behaviour and dispute routes — carry more weight than the parts that are easy to market.

What we do

• Score platforms against six weighted dimensions and publish the score with its last-tested date.
• Verify every licence on the regulator's own public register before a platform is eligible to be listed at all.
• Read the full terms and conditions clause by clause, and flag the ones that let an operator keep your money.
• Run a free academy, calculators and a gambling wiki so the maths is available without an account or an e-mail address.
• Maintain a blacklist of operators we have evidence against, and a dispute resolution centre for players who cannot get paid.
• Publish a responsible gambling hub with limits, self-exclusion routes and helplines, on every language edition of the site.

What we do not do

• We do not give gambling advice, tips or predictions, and we do not sell systems. No strategy beats a negative expectation.
• We do not operate gambling, hold player funds, or process any bet. We are a publisher, not an operator.
• We do not act as a regulator. We cannot fine an operator, suspend a licence or compel a payment — we can mediate, escalate and publish.
• We do not review platforms whose licence we cannot find on a public register. An unverifiable operator gets no score, not a low one.
• We do not publish payout claims we have not measured ourselves or sourced to a document we can show you.

How platforms are scored, in brief

Six dimensions, fixed weights, one licence gate before any of them apply. The full sub-criteria, the licence tiers and a worked example are in the Ranking Protocol.

Trust carries the most weight because everything else depends on it. Bonuses carry the least, for the reasons set out on our bonuses page: after the terms are applied, most welcome offers are worth a fraction of their headline.

How we test

   Open an ordinary account

   Testers register from a consumer connection in a market the platform accepts, using their own identity. We do not announce our tests and we do not accept press or VIP accounts.

   Deposit real money

   At least two fiat methods and, where offered, two crypto networks, at amounts a recreational player would use — not token sums that stay below verification thresholds.

   Play across the product

   Slots, live dealer, sportsbook markets or poker tables as relevant, on desktop and mobile, for long enough to trigger reality checks and to test deposit and loss limits.

   Time every withdrawal

   At least three withdrawals per method, requested at different times of day and week. The clock runs from request to funds available, including any verification delay — not from the operator's stated processing window.

   Test support with answerable questions

   At least six tickets across different hours, including overnight, asking questions whose correct answers we already know from the terms.

   Verify, cross-check, publish

   Licence register lookup, company records and a full read of the terms. A second editor re-scores from the same evidence before anything goes live, and the score is published with its test date.

How we are funded

CasinoTrust is funded by affiliate commissions and, in clearly labelled slots, by advertising. When you open an account through a link on this site, the platform may pay us a commission. That is how the academy, the calculators and the dispute service stay free to use. We would rather tell you that plainly than pretend to be a charity.

The obvious risk is that money buys placement. Three structural rules stop it: rankings are produced by applying the published protocol to test evidence; the editors who score platforms are not told which platforms pay commission or at what rate; and commercial staff cannot request, review or veto a score, a ranking position or a blacklist entry. Platforms that pay us are ranked below platforms that do not whenever the evidence says so, and that has to be visible on the site for the claim to mean anything.

Editorial separation

Content is written by five specialist desks — casino and slots, poker, sports betting and prediction markets, crypto and payments, and compliance and responsible gambling. Each desk's remit is listed on the authors page. Information flows from editorial to commercial only: editorial tells commercial what has been published, never the reverse. Advertising slots are labelled as advertising. Affiliate links are disclosed. Corrections are made in place with a note, not quietly.

Twelve languages, one method

The site publishes in twelve language editions, including English (with a dedicated Nigerian edition), Portuguese, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, French, Spanish and Arabic. Every edition uses the same scores, the same protocol and the same blacklist. Translations render local currencies and regulators correctly, but they never soften a verdict for a market — a platform that scores 6.2 in English scores 6.2 in every language.

What we will never do

• Sell a ranking position, a score, or a place on a 'top' list. There is no price, and there is no package that includes one.
• Publish a payout figure, a speed claim or a bonus amount we have not verified. Where a number would have to be invented, we describe the mechanism instead.
• Take a fee to remove a blacklist entry or to soften a review. Blacklist entries are removed when the evidence changes, and the evidence is published.
• Let a commercial partner see a review before publication. Operators get the same access as anyone else: the published page and the corrections route.
• Target under-18s, or present gambling as income. Gambling is 18+ (higher in some jurisdictions), every game carries a house edge, and no page on this site will tell you otherwise.
• Hide who we are. The desks, the method and the funding model are all published.

How to hold us to it

A claim of independence is only worth the mechanism behind it. Three are available to you. First, the protocol is reproducible: the sub-criteria describe what to measure and how to convert a measurement into a score, so you can re-run any test yourself and tell us if your numbers differ. Second, the corrections route in our editorial policy commits us to acknowledge a complaint within two working days and fix verified errors in place. Third, if you believe a review is influenced by commercial interest, say so to the compliance desk and we will publish the outcome.
