Most gambling decisions come down to a number: the equity of your stack on the bubble, the edge on a no-commission banker bet, the chance the dealer busts from a 6. These tools give you the number. What each tool does

Poker ICM calculator

The ICM calculator converts tournament chip stacks into money equity using the Malmuth–Harville model. Enter the remaining stacks and the payout structure, and it tells you what each stack is worth in prize money — which is different from its share of the chips. That difference is why folding a marginally profitable hand on the bubble can be correct, and why a chip leader should be pressuring medium stacks. The page explains the model, works a three-player example by hand and lists the model's known limitations.

Baccarat chance calculator

The baccarat calculator computes exact banker, player and tie probabilities for one to eight decks, then applies whatever commission and tie payout the table uses to produce the house edge on each bet. It also converts edge into expected loss per hour from your stake and hands per hour — the figure that actually decides what a session costs. Use it to test "no-commission" and 9:1 tie tables before you sit.

Blackjack chance calculator

The blackjack calculator shows the dealer's probability of busting from each up-card, your probability of busting if you hit each hard total, and how those two numbers combine into basic-strategy decisions. Pair it with the basic-strategy chart and you can see why you stand on 12 against a 6 but hit 12 against a 2.

Trainers and simulators

How to use calculators responsibly

A calculator tells you the expected value of a bet. It does not tell you that you will win, and it cannot make a negative-expectation bet positive. Used well, these tools lower the cost of your gambling; used badly, they become a way to rationalise playing longer.

• Use the numbers to choose between options (banker vs player, hit vs stand, shove vs fold) — not to decide whether to gamble at all.
• Convert edge into money per hour. 1.06% sounds small; £6.36 an hour at £10 a hand is concrete.
• Check rule variants before every session. One footnote (banker 6 pays half, dealer hits soft 17) changes the answer.
• Remember what the model leaves out: ICM ignores skill and position; house-edge figures assume a fair, licensed game.
• Set your stake and stop-loss from the bankroll guide first; then use the calculator to see what that budget buys.

Where the numbers come from

Baccarat and blackjack probabilities are computed by exhaustive enumeration of the shoe composition, not by simulation, so they match the published figures used by game designers and regulators to within rounding. The ICM model follows the Malmuth–Harville recursion as used by commercial tournament software.
