A "casino review" means very different things depending on whether you bet on football, grind poker tournaments, spin slots, deposit Bitcoin or trade election contracts. So we do not publish one ranking. We publish six, each scored on the criteria that matter for that product, and each built from the same brand data you can inspect on our brand guide pages.

How the six review categories are structured

A platform can appear in several categories — Stake, for example, is ranked as a crypto casino, an online casino, a sportsbook and a poker room — but its position in each list depends on category-specific weighting, not a single global score. Here is what each category covers and what moves the needle in it.

How a CasinoTrust review is made

The process is the same for a Nasdaq-listed bookmaker and a two-year-old crypto casino. It is documented in full in the Ranking Protocol; this is the short version.

   Licence and ownership check

   We look up the operating company on the regulator's register (UKGC, MGA, Curaçao GCB, state regulators) and confirm the licence covers the products and territories the site advertises. Unlicensed platforms are not scored; they go to the blacklist review queue instead.

   Real-money test accounts

   Testers register from the markets the platform targets, deposit with at least two methods (fiat and crypto where both exist) and play long enough to trigger ordinary account behaviour — bonus wagering, limit changes, a support ticket.

   Timed withdrawals

   Every withdrawal is timed from request to funds received, including any verification step it triggers. The figure on each brand page is a measured median, not the operator's marketing claim.

   Six-dimension scoring

   Trust & licensing, games & markets, payments & payouts, bonuses & value, support and mobile are each scored 0–10. Category pages re-weight these dimensions — payments count more for crypto casinos, trust counts more for sportsbooks holding client funds for weeks.

   Scheduled re-testing

   Scores carry a last-tested date and are refreshed on a rolling schedule. Licence changes, payout backlogs or terms-of-service changes that hurt players trigger an out-of-cycle review.

What our reviews will and will not tell you

• Which licence actually governs your account and where you complain if something goes wrong
• How long withdrawals really took in our tests, per payment method
• What triggers identity verification and what documents were requested
• The real cost of a bonus once wagering, game weighting and maximum-bet rules are applied
• Where a platform is strong — market depth, rake structure, game library — and where it is not

What we do not do: quote RTP or bonus figures we have not verified on the live site, rank by commission, or present a 7.4 as if it were a 9. A low-scoring brand stays in the list with its score visible, because a reader in a market with few options still needs to know how the available choices compare. Reading a review before you deposit

Start with the licence line and the KYC label, because those decide what happens on the day you want to withdraw a large win. Then check payout speed for the method you will actually use — a "minutes" figure for crypto says nothing about a bank transfer. Only then look at bonuses; a welcome package is the least durable thing about a platform and the most heavily marketed.
